We are seeking a passionate and highly qualified 7th/8th Grade Math and Science Teacher to join our middle school teaching team. Essential Duties: Establishes and maintains a positive, respectful classroom environment by implementing clear expectations and utilizing a positive behavior support system. Utilizes a variety of teaching strategies within a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) to promote student success. Identifies individual student needs and collaborates with staff to implement appropriate supports, including referrals and contributions to individualized education plans (IEPs) when necessary. Oversees and coordinates the activities of paraprofessionals, associate teachers and volunteers in the classroom and during field trips. Carry out duties under the supervision of the Early Childhood Administrator. Other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Michigan State Standards in math and science

  • Foster a positive, student-centered learning environment that supports the academic and social-emotional growth of all learners
  • Use data to inform instruction and differentiate learning for diverse student needs
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to support cross-curricular initiatives and school-wide goals
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and extracurricular activities as needed

    Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements in Math and Science (grades 7-8) The following endorsements are acceptable: ZG, ZL, ZC, or EQ + DQ
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and connect with middle school students
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with educational technology and digital learning tools
  • Commitment to building strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using standards-based grading and formative assessment practices
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction and project-based learning
  • Previous experience working in a small or rural school setting
  • Masters Degree
